Gbarpolu Electoral District 1 has a registered voter population of 16,869 made up of 9,554 males and 7,315 females as of July 2023.
With 17 centers, the electoral district comprises of Gbarngay and Nyeamah amalgamated towns in Bokomu Administrative District; Bombomah, Bondi, Fallah, Gongbayah One, Gongbayah Two, Gongbayah Three, Henry Town, Lower Bondi Mandingo, Manowella and Tawalata amalgamated towns in Bopolu Administrative District; and all the communities in Bopolu City.
The district plays a vital role in electing representatives to the House of Representatives in the republic of Liberia.
